Two Rogers men are each being held on half million dollar bonds after their arrests in connection with shooting at a vehicle Friday night.

Douglas Blake Huston, 18, and Robert Aaron Thomas, 18, were arrested in connection with charges of attempted capital murder, a class A felony; and first-degree discharge of a firearm from a car and a terroristic act, both class B felonies. They were being held Monday morning in the Benton County Jail on $500,000 bonds.

Thomas was also arrested on misdemeanor charges of driving while intoxicated, minor in possession and possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $75,000 to cover the misdemeanors.

Rogers police responded to a call Friday night concerning a shooting at the intersection of South 15th and West Cypress streets, according to court documents. The caller reported someone shot or hit the car she was in, but then reported a bullet hole in the car’s seat, according to an 11:52 p.m. dispatch report. Police arrived and learned the reporting callers were two juveniles — a boy and a girl.

Police found a bullet hole near the top right side of the driver’s seat and then found a .45-caliber bullet, the affidavit states.

The boy told police he and the girl were driving east in the 2000 block of West Walnut Street when their car came up beside a dark-colored, Nissan Pathfinder in the outside lane. The boy said he heard a “pop” and the back glass of his car broke. The boy said he turned around in the middle of the road to get behind the Pathfinder and get its license number, the affidavit states.

The boy noticed the Pathfinder had a dent behind the driver’s door, the affidavit states. The boy told police he saw the driver and described him as having curly hair.

Police were able to trace the Pathfinder to Thomas, according to documents.

Police obtained a search warrant for Huston’s residence and found a black Cimarron 1911 .45-caliber pistol with a brown handle in a drawer in the dining room area, the affidavit states.
