ARKANSAS-PINE BLUFF 61, GRAMBLING STATE 45

PINE BLUFF - Arkansas-Pine Bluff made 56.8 percent of its shots in the first half and never trailed while handing Grambling State its 24th consecutive loss Saturday night.

UAPB (14-14, 13-3) started the game on a 9-2 run, led 23-11 midway through the first half and took a 36-18 lead into halftime.

The Golden Lions twice led by as many as 22 points in the second half in winning their 13th SWAC game, the most in a season since George Ivory took over as coach in 2009.

UAPB, which has two games remaining and is one game out of first place in the SWAC standings, shot 44.8 percent from the floor, held Grambling State (0-24, 0-15) to 32.1 percent shooting and forced 18 turnovers.

Davon Haynes led UAPB with 19 points and seven rebounds.

WOMEN

GRAMBLING STATE 62, ARKANSAS-PINE BLUFF 60

PINE BLUFF - Cierra Ceazer finished with 15 points and eight rebounds to lead Grambling State (6-21, 4-11) past Arkansas-Pine Bluff (9-17, 5-11).

Chi Chi Okwumabua had a game-high 19 points for the Lady Lions.
