— Can you yet appreciate what our new Sheriff Cradduck has done in the name of compassion for those who can no longer defend themselves? Talk about a new “Christian attitude” for the underdog.

We seniors applaud our new sheriff’s attitude and his administration of our Benton County Sheriff ’s Department.

Thank you, sir, for your fi ne behavior.

PRESIDENT IS A DISGRACE On Tuesday, Feb. 12, the Campaigner-in-Chief gave yet another State of Confusion address to Congress. But all we hear about is how Sen. Rubio took a drink of water during the Republican response.

Now what really made me mad that Tuesday was President Barack Hussein Obama, the commander-inchief of military forces, never even mentioned that a true American hero and patriot, Navy SEAL sniper Chris Kyle, was laid to rest earlier that day. Nor did the president order the flag to half-mast for the fallen hero.

Retired Chief Petty Oftcer Chris Kyle was the deadliest sniper in American military history. A man who volunteered for four tours to Iraq to protect American soldiers, he also wrote a New York Times bestseller “American Sniper: Autobiography of The Most Lethal Sniper In American History.” Chris had more than 150 confi rmed kills.

But he never kept a cent of the money he got from his book. Instead, he donated all proceeds to two friends and fellow Seal members’ families. Chris also started a nonprofi t organization called Fitco Cares Foundation to help soldiers coming home who struggle with PTSD.

It is a disgrace to anyone who ever put on a military uniform and every other American.

Mr. Obama, you, sir, are a disgrace to America and the American people! I urge all Americans to call your senators and congressmen and tell them how we as Americans feel about a president who will not honor a military hero! The number for the Capitol switchboard is 202-224-3121. Please do as I did and call today and ask to speak to your representative.

In Northwest Arkansas, they are Sens. John Boozman andMark Pryor (both represent the entire state) and U.S. Rep. Steve Womack.

RogersWORKERS CREATE WEALTHThe rich are spoken of as “the job creators,” like it’s some sort of charity thing. How would they fare if there were neither workers with money to buy their products, nor workers to run their machines and make their products? Since wealth results from the money left over after the workers and overhead are paid, it should be obvious that if there were no workers, there would be no wealth produced. The worker, therefore, is the true wealth creator.

Investors don’t spend to produce products for which there is no demand. So, even here, the consumers (workers) drive job creation through their demand for products.

Workers create wealth.

And workers create jobs.

Investors accumulate wealth, but they don’t create it. Rest assured no employer will hire you if you don’t produce more than you are paid, nor will he keep you ifare not profitable to him.

Unions typically think workers should share in a portion of the wealth they produce. Silly rabbits! How unAmerican is that? They will surely cause the sky to fall.

GreenlandPRESS GOES

TOO FARWell, the press is at it again with the Freedom of Information crusade.

Apparently, the editors think it is right and proper for anyone to know the names and addresses of folks who get a concealed carry permit.

Presumably, they might like to publish the list ... like happened recently in New York. But only if, in their infinite wisdom, they feel the public should know.

The Ledge thinks your right to privacy might trump other folk’s right to expose you.

Good for them. Probably the majority of the public feels the same way.

Memo to the press: Get a life. The public does not have the right to know everything.

Some things should remain private.

Shotguns are very

common in Arkansas, used for hunting squirrels, ducks, rabbits, etc., even deer. And there is a law in Arkansas and almost every other state that limits the number of shells you can have in the gun to only three when hunting migratory birds. I have never heard a hunter complain about that limitation. I have never heard the National Rifle Association go to court to change it. Nobody says it is against the Second Amendment to limit shotguns to only three shells. Why? Because it was needed to protect ducks and geese.

But when it comes to assault weapons, the same people jump up and down about limiting magazines.

It is okay to limit a hunter to only three shells in his shotgun when he is trying to kill ducks but we simply must not limit a crazy killer to only three rounds in his assault weapon when he is killing little kids. It is the crazy killer’s constitutional right to pack any type of weapon with any number of rounds and magazines? TheFounding Fathers intended for him to have maximum killing power when he attacked an elementary school?

Are the rights of a crazed killer with an assault weapon going to trump the right of school children to go on living?

FayettevilleWHY NOT BEST OF BOTH?

With regard to the recent decision by the Rogers schools to restrict use of their facilities by outside organizations, particularly Girls on the Run: How sad is this state of affairs?

On one hand we have a school district that generously opens its publicly funded facilities for community use, yet does not build adequate facilities for educating our youth. On the other hand is a school district with great foresight and planning for student facilities, but a reluctance to share those facilities with the community.

Why can’t we get the best from both Bentonville and Rogers schools?
