Police seek help to find teen

Benton police are asking for help in locating a teenager who ran away from a psychiatric facility last month.

Tristian “Dusty” Higgins, 16, ran away from Rivendell Behavioral Health Services in Benton on Jan. 18 as a guardian was attempting to admit him, Benton Police Department spokesman Lt. Kevin Russell said.

Since then, the department has received tips regarding Higgins’ whereabouts, but the calls always came in after Higgins had left the location, Russell said.

Police have yet to make contact with Higgins, and there have been no new leads on his whereabouts in morethan a week.

Higgins is a white male, about 5 feet 8 inches tall, 150 pounds, with hazel eyes and blond hair, according to Russell. He was wearing a gray hoodie, bluejeans and white tennis shoes when he ran away.

“Tristian was traveling on foot and is believed to still be in the Central Arkansas area,” Russell said in a statement Friday.

Anyone with information about Higgins’ whereabouts is asked to call the Police Department at (501) 778-1171.
