ARKANSAS TECH 69, SOUTHERN ARKANSAS 65

Jared Williamson scored 19 points, Bobby Hatchett had 16 points and 6 assists, and Willie Kirkland added 14 points and 9 rebounds to Arkansas Tech (15-9, 12-6 Great American Conference) past Southern Arkansas (9-15, 5-13) in Magnolia.

Williamson hit four three-pointers and had 14 points in the first 10 minutes.

SAU used a 7-0 run to cut Tech’s lead to 61-59 with 2:32 left. After a basket by Hatchett’s layup put Tech ahead 65-61 with 26 seconds left, SAU’s Darrin Johnson hit a three-pointer to cut the margin to one point. Free throws by Hatchett and Tyler Friedel set the final score.

SAU’s Chris Davis led all scorers with 22 points. Johnson added 12 points and Nigel Jones 11.

ARKANSAS-MONTICELLO 78, HARDING 61

Harding (18-8, 11-7) lost its fourth consecutive road game to fall one game behind Arkansas Tech in the Great American Conference standings in Monticello.

UAM (16-8, 11-7), which has won five in a row, moved into a second-place tie with Harding.

The game was tied 19-19 with 10:47 left in the first half, but UAM outscored Harding 19-6 the rest of the half and held a 38-25 halftime lead. The Boll Weevils scored extended the run with a 9-0 start to the second half and led 47-25 with 18:04 left. Harding trailed by 23 points in the second half.

The Bisons outscored the Boll Weevils 12-0, led by Zach Roddenberry, to cut the UAM lead to 57-50. But the Boll Weevils countered by outscoring the Bisons 14-0 to put the game away.

Roddenberry, Hayden Johnson and Adam Sterrenberg each had 10 points to lead Harding.

Kori Forge led Arkansas-Monticello with 27 points.

NW OKLAHOMA STATE 81, HENDERSON STATE 64

Northwestern Oklahoma State (13-10, 11-6) went on a late 24-3 run to beat Henderson State (12-12, 7-11) in Alva, Okla.

After Melvin Haynes hit a threepointer to give Henderson State a 61-57 lead with 7:58 remaining, Northwestern Oklahoma State held the Reddies to one field goal the remainder of the game.

Northwestern Oklahoma State went 7 of 8 from the floor down the stretch and was 7 of 7 from the free-throw line.

Andrew Ensley finished with 22 points and 8 rebounds.

Jonathan Freemyer led Northwestern Oklahoma State with 21 points.

SW OKLAHOMA STATE 75, OUACHITA BAPTIST 63

Thomas Davis scored 19 points and Rod Camphor added 18 to lead Southwestern Oklahoma State (10-15, 9-10) past Ouachita Baptist (13-10, 9-8) in Weatherford, Okla.

The Bulldogs used a 9-0 run on their way to a 31-20 halftime lead.

OBU cut the lead to 35-30 with 16:47 remaining, but that was as close as the Tigers would get.

Colt Fason led the Tigers with 17 points and three rebounds.

WOMEN

ARKANSAS TECH 83, SOUTHERN ARKANSAS 60

Rosie Silva had 15 points and 8 steals, Jasmine Poole had 14 points with 9 rebounds, and Jessica Weatherford had 13 points and 6 rebounds as the Golden Suns (18-6, 15-3 Great American Conference) cruised to a victory over the Lady Muleriders (0-23, 0-18) in Magnolia.

Arkansas Tech, shooting 51.5 percent from the field and forcing 13 first-half turnovers, built an 8-0 lead en route to building a 48-27 halftime advantage.

HARDING 74, ARKANSAS-MONTICELLO 63

Sophomore forward Arielle Saunders finished with 20 points and 12 rebounds to lead Harding (17-7, 13-5) past Arkansas-Monticello (5-19 2-16) in Monticello.

Harding junior forward Kristen Celsor scored 15 of her 18 points in the second half. She was 7 of 10 from the field, including four three-pointers.

Arkansas-Monticello was led by freshman guard Jordan Goforth and senior guard Candace Virgadamo, who each had 12 points.

HENDERSON STATE 54, NW OKLAHOMA STATE 51

Henderson State (11-13, 6-12) ended a six-game losing streak, beating Northwestern Oklahoma State (6-17, 5-12) in Alva, Okla.

Destiny Smith finished with 13 points and 16 rebounds to lead the Lady Reddies.

SW OKLAHOMA STATE 88, OUACHITA BAPTIST 62

Ouachita Baptist (15-8, 10-7) lost its fifth consecutive game, falling to Southwestern Oklahoma State (20-5, 15-4) in Weatherford, Okla.

Michelle Fisher led the Bulldogs with 28 points. Elizabeth Lay had 12 points, while SaRaya added 10.

Monica Williams scored 19 points to lead OBU. Nashia James finished with 12 points and nine rebounds.
