The Writers Colony at Dairy Hollow in Eureka Springs will host “Grant Writing: The Next Step” from 1-4 p.m. Tuesday. The workshop is a follow-up to a workshop on grants held by the writing group in January.

Mike McIntyre, who has worked at World Vision International, for the United Methodist Committee on Relief and for Save the Children, will lead the class. Attendees will need to do a “homework” assignment before the class. Guests should also take an outline of an idea for a project they wish to get funded and a list of potential funding sources. Program planned on Arkansas artist

The Buffalo National River Partners will present “Essie Ward, Grandma Moses of the Ozarks” at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Boone County Library in Harrison. Susan Young, outreach coordinator for the Shiloh Museum of Ozark History in Springdale, will lead the program.

Born in 1902, Ward lived in Searcy County her entire 79 years. She began drawing as a young girl and created drawings, paintings and sculptures throughout her life.

Prior to Young’s program, Sybil Craig of the Buffalo National River Partners will discuss the status of the organization. Craig’s comments are scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
