City Council to Discuss Contract

— The City Council will continue discussions about the city’s contract with the Bentonville/Bella Vista Chamber of Commerce at its meeting Monday.

The meeting will start at 6:30 p.m. in Highlands Crossing Center.

The council voted to renew a $25,000 annual contract with the organization but had some issues with the way business between the two entities had been conducted. Mayor Frank Anderson presented aldermen at a work session Feb. 14 with a draft of a contract outlining what the city expects from the agreement, which is intended to promote economic growth and development in the city.

Aldermen also will discuss changing the name of a portion of Dartmoor Road, east of Bella Vista Way to Lambeth Road, to Mercy Way; zoning code amendments regarding setback reductions on adjacent parcels under the same ownership; right of way excavation permits; and a report that was presented by an ad hoc committee considering the impact of the city taking over operations of the Bella Vista Public Library.
