ELKINS — ELKINS — Help wanted: a new superintendent.
The School Board decided this week to do its own search to replace Superintendent Megan Witonski rather than hire a search firm. The board accepted Witonski’s resignation, effective June 30. She will become deputy superintendent for the Springdale School District on July 1.
Advertisements have been placed on the websites for the Arkansas Association of Educational Administrators and the Arkansas School Boards Association as well as social media sites used by school officials.
The district has received a few applications, Witonski said. The deadline is 5 p.m. Thursday when the board will meet to review applications.
