Police Link Five Teens to Mailbox Explosions

— Police said they arrested five teen boys Tuesday after they vandalized four mailboxes using homemade explosives.

The teens were arrested in connection with a felony criminal act involving explosives, according to a news release from police. Four were also arrested on a felony charge of first-degree criminal mischief and one faces a misdemeanor charge of first-degree criminal mischief.

Police investigated four reports of mailboxes destroyed by homemade explosives Monday. Two of the incidents were reported on North Hartford Drive, the release said, and two were reported on North Eastwood Drive.

Officers arrested two 15-year-old boys and three 16-year-old boys Tuesday in connection with the incidents.
