— Colin Poche threw five scoreless innings in his college debut and Arkansas beat New Orleans 14-0 in a run-ruled doubleheader opener Tuesday at Baum Stadium.

Poche, a left-hander selected in the fifth round of last year's MLB Draft, didn't allow a hit until the fifth inning and struck out six batters as the No. 1 Razorbacks made easy work of the Privateers. Poche had sat out the first three games with a suspension.

Arkansas scored 10 runs in the first three innings of the game, which ended midway through the seventh by virtue of a pregame agreement between the teams.

Tyler Spoon's two-run home run in the Razorbacks' third at-bat of the first inning gave the team the lead. Arkansas scored five runs in the opening frame, three runs in the second and two runs in the third.

The Razorbacks (3-1) capped the scoring with a two-run home run by freshman Willie Schwanke in the bottom of the sixth inning. Arkansas recorded 12 hits in the game, but stranded 14 runners.

Jacob Mahan had 4 RBIs as he continued to fill in for injured starting second baseman Dominic Ficociello. Spoon and Schwanke each finished with 3 RBIs.

Cade Lynch pitched the final two innings for the Razorbacks, striking out three batters and allowing no hits. It was Lynch's first outing since undergoing surgery last month for migraine headaches.
