Five teens arrested after Fayetteville mailboxes explode

Police arrested five teenagers Tuesday in connection with using homemade explosives blow up mailboxes on North Hartford and North Eastwood drives, according to a news release from the Fayetteville Police Department.

The incidents happened Monday.

The 15- and 16-year-old boys were arrested in connection with felony criminal act involving explosives. Four were arrested in connection with felony criminal mischief, and one was arrested in connection with misdemeanor criminal mischief, according to the news release.
