The Razorbacks beat New Orleans 3-0 in Game 2 of the doubleheader, completing a sweep in which they held the Privateers to no runs on just five combined hits.

Freshman right-hander Landon Simpson pitched three innings and sophomore left-hander Michael Gunn added four as Arkansas improved to 4-1 this season. Simpson gave up three hits, but Colby Suggs, Gunn and Jalen Beeks allowed just one in six innings of relief.

Gunn recorded all six strikeouts in the second game. As the starting designated hitter, the Wilson native also scored the game's first run in the second inning and just missed hitting a leadoff home run in the eighth.

Arkansas didn't capitalize an opportunity to blow the game open when it stranded the bases loaded in the bottom of the fifth, but Jake Wise added an RBI in the sixth and Jacob Morris scored on a throwing error in the seventh to create some breathing room.

The Razorbacks combined for 19 hits and 17 runs scored in the doubleheader, having won the first game 14-0 in seven innings. Arkansas will host Evansville for the first of a three-game series on Friday at 3:05 p.m.
