The University of Arkansas at Fort Smith’s Academy of the Arts will host Gospel Fest 2013 at 7 p.m. Friday at the Arkansas Best Corp. Performing Arts Center at the Fort Smith Convention Center.

The event will feature a choir of more than 225 singers.

The concert will also feature numerous local worship leaders and soloists.

Songs to be performed include “God is So Good,” “Crown Him with Many Crowns,” “Happy Day,” “Victory in Jesus” and “It is Well with My Soul.”

Tickets cost $17-$20.

  • ARKANSAS DEMOCRAT-GAZETTEHometown Jam II set for Friday

The Greater Eureka Springs Chamber of Commerce will host its second Mid-Winter Hometown Jam at 7 p.m. Friday at the Eureka Springs City Auditorium.

The event will feature seven local bands - The Ariels, BrickFields, Centerfuze, Rockhouse, Mike Blackwell Band, SX Rex and Random Shuffle. Each band will perform a 20-minute set before joining together for a jam session.

Tickets cost $12 at the door or advance tickets can be purchased at the Chamber of Commerce Visitor Center at Pine Mountain for $10. Children 12 and under get in free.
