Oaklawn Park report

— Borel, 0 for 2, denied

HOT SPRINGS - Jockey Calvin Borel will have to wait a little longer for his 5,000th career victory after finishing out of the money with two mounts Saturday afternoon at Oaklawn Park.

Borel, who has 4,999 career victories, was riding for the first time since Dec. 28.

Borel was sidelined much of that period with a broken wrist, an injury discovered Jan. 8 - three days before Oaklawn’s live season began.

Borel is trying to become only the 26th jockey in North American history to reach 5,000 victories.

Borel finished fourth aboard even-money favorite Conte in the third race and seventh aboard Analytic in the sixth race for trainer Ron Moquett of Hot Springs.

Analytic was the 4-1 third choice.

Borel, 46, is not scheduled to ride any horses today, but he is named on three horses Monday - Atticus the Man in the third race, Fevernthefunkhouse in theeighth race and Hezunusal in the 10th race.

Borel was Oaklawn’s leading rider in 1995 and 2001.
