No more burn permits today in Fayetteville
Posted: February 17, 2013 at 4:12 p.m.
FAYETTEVILLE The Fayetteville Fire Department stopped issuing burn permits early this afternoon for the rest of today.
"We had a couple of small grass fires that we needed to respond to," said Bill Hamm, a driver-operator with the fire department. "Considering those fires and the increased amounts of wind, the department decided to stop issuing burn permits today."
The decision to issue burn permits is evaluated by the city on a day-to-day basis. There is not a burn ban in Washington County.
