— Police said they seized more than 10 pounds of marijuana Friday during a routine traffic stop on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

Phanomphone Lakhiaminh, 53, of 4319 Johnson St. in Fort Smith faces felony charges in connection with possession of a controlled substance.

According to an arrest report, officers stopped a black Lexus just before 7 a.m. after it crossed the center line near the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Interstate 540.

Lakhiaminh was the driver, and she appeared nervous, prompting officers to search her car, according to the report.

Police said they found 10 plastic bags of marijuana, weighing about 10 pounds, 9 ounces, in a sleeping bag.
