>>“Mr. President, I still live in the same workingclass neighborhood I grew up in.
Frederick really should get out of the house sometimes.
Rubio's "working class" house with four bathrooms is listed for sale for $675,000.
With dunces like Frederick pulling for him Rubio better find some great make-up artists and campaign strategists. Surely Rubio can do better.

>>The GOP needs leaders who are unafraid to point out that it was runaway federal mandates, such as the Dodd-Frank mortgages to unqualifi ed borrowers, that sparked the current recession.<<
Dodd-Frank mortgages? They issue mortgages? Who knew.
Oh wait, I found something that has a direct bearing on mortgages that politicians pushed so maybe Frederick has a point:

"Community Reinvestment Act had nothing to do with subprime crisis"
Posted by: Aaron Pressman on September 29, 2008
Fresh off the false and politicized attack on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, today we’re hearing the know-nothings blame the subprime crisis on the Community Reinvestment Act — a 30-year-old law that was actually weakened by the Bush administration just as the worst lending wave began. This is even more ridiculous than blaming Freddie and Fannie.
The Community Reinvestment Act, passed in 1977, requires banks to lend in the low-income neighborhoods where they take deposits. Just the idea that a lending crisis created from 2004 to 2007 was caused by a 1977 law is silly. But it’s even more ridiculous when you consider that most subprime loans were made by firms that aren’t subject to the CRA. University of Michigan law professor Michael Barr testified back in February before the House Committee on Financial Services that 50% of subprime loans were made by mortgage service companies not subject comprehensive federal supervision and another 30% were made by affiliates of banks or thrifts which are not subject to routine supervision or examinations. Frederick's propaganda has been shot down so many times it seems foolish to even proffer a rebuttal.
I can't say about his needing a drink of water Alpha but it seems if the GOP plans to win anything they would have had podium equipped with a glass of water for such an important occasion. Perhaps have Mr Rubio rehearse a few times before delivering such a timely speech. His shifty eyes and nervous manner didn't translate well.
I plan to watch SNL tonight for what I anticipate will be their frying of the performance.

Sherman again?
I thought this was satire for the first 1/3, then I saw some of the old standard GOP talking point lies (high taxes under Obama). Then I stopped reading. These people are embarrassing the nation. Just a couple pokes:
Rubio: "[Obama believes] ...the economic downturn happened because our government didn’t tax enough, spend enough and control enough. ...his solution to virtually every problem we face is for Washington to tax more, borrow more and spend more.”
Keep lying wingnuts, see how that works out for you in elections. Again:
Taxes are lower under Obama than they were under baby Bush, Clinton, papa Bush, Reagan, Carter, Ford, Johnson, Nixon and Kennedy. Note:
"Federal, state and local taxes — including income, property, sales and other taxes consumed 9.2% of all personal income in 2009, the lowest rate since 1950,... Bureau of Economic Analysis." http://www.usatoday.com/money/perfi/t...
Regarding spending, the record shows Demos are *twice* as good at not spending beyond our means.
"Over the last 75 years, Republican administrations have had an average annual deficit of $83.4 billion. The average for Democratic presidents is one fourth of that, only $20 billion." http://hnn.us/articles/8301.html
And: "Since 1959 federal spending has gone up an average $35 billion a year under Democratic presidents and $60 billion under Republicans." http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/...
Here's a comparison of annualized federal spending growth of each president going back to Reagan: http://tinyurl.com/77n6ayx
Notice Obama's is lowest. See chart comparison with Reagan here: http://talkingpointsmemo.com/images/g...
Oh, and there's another blatant lie in Rubio's missive that Sherman didn't get around to peddling. It's nicely roasted to a crisp here:
"GOP Debunked: Obama did not create $5 trillion in new debt"
http://www.examiner.com/article/gop-d...
Keep talking wingnuts!

What in the heck does Sen. Rubio's house have to do with the fact that it is in a working class neighborhood like he said. There is no need to attack this guy. He is an example of American dream personified for some folks. I would guess so especially for some immigrant communities. How is his commenting on what he believes the President thinks lying? It's not.
Keep embarrasing yourselves moonbats. Your lack of class is true and constant like the North Star.

The problem with Rubio is that he is just like his fellow republicans, they fabricate things then believe them as facts. Many of the items Rubio said the President stated in the SOTU the President didn't say. Many of the items Rubio disagreed with at one time they agreed with and even had proposed before the president was elected. Many of the things Rubio said the president needed to do he has done but the republicans block things at every turn.
The republican brand is dying and they don't seem to care as long as they can oppose the president which is the same as opposing the American people. I for one can't wait until they are all a distant memory.

Tankersley " What in the heck does Sen. Rubio's house have to do with the fact that it is in a working class neighborhood like he said."
$675,000 is a lot of money and they think they deserve 50% of it for which they did nothing but of course that doesn't matter.

RE "What in the heck does Sen. Rubio's house have to do with the fact that it is in a working class neighborhood like he said."
Well, for one thing, it is listed for about three times the median value of homes in West Miami. For another, Mr. Rubio himself made his house and neighborhood an issue by bringing them up in his speech. I guess he's the one with no class. I'll bet his agent (Did you know that Mr. Rubio is trying to sell his house?) is unhappy because Mr. Rubio didn't get any free advertising by mentioning that the house is for sale. Maybe Mr. Rubio has a little class after all.
RE "He is an example of American dream personified for some folks. I would guess so especially for some immigrant communities."
We'll see how that works out for him.
RE "How is his commenting on what he believes the President thinks lying?"
Mr. Rubio has had plenty of opportunities to find out that much of what he said isn't true. Since it would be hard to believe that the guy is really that ignorant, it must be the case that he is lying.

"Working class neighborhood" offers $675,000 homes with four bathrooms and a pool?
Somehow I think that would be the richest "working class neighborhood" in the USA, perhaps in the entire world.
Mr Rubio made an issue of it. I showed the fallacy of his pandering to remaining with his roots.
It's Rubio who is doing the attacking. We're shooting back with some facts. If facts make you sizzle then find another kitchen.

How is that exactly. Are you liberals really that hateful towards success? Because your heroes aren't. They just pretend to be to get your pink votes that line their base.

Do you expect a success story to begin with a US Senator living in a shack like he just got off a boat?

The point was that he bragged about living in a working-class neighborhood.
I live in a working-class neighborhood, with some gentrification, but I don't think even the newer houses are worth anywhere near $675,000.
