Snow flurries expected in north Arkansas

Forecasters said Friday that snow flurries are likely in the state’s northern half from late Friday night into Saturday morning.

“Chances of snow accumulating are low, although a dusting at some of the higher elevations could occur,” National Weather Services Warning Coordination Meteorologist John Robinson said in an e-mailed statement.

The flurries are expected to hit Northwest Arkansas soon after midnight and should end in all areas by midday Saturday, the weather service added.

For next week, the weather service also forecasts periods of heavy rain both Monday and Wednesday nights into Thursday, with the southeast third of the state especially targeted by Wednesday's front.
