PUBLIC VIEWPOINT Gay Marriage Shows Distance From God

It was around the time of the other terrorist attack by zealots on New York City that I first heard of the idea of same-sex marriage. I was stunned. What an absurd notion, I thought. I mean, you can’t build a structure with just two nuts or two screws - you need one of each. The family is the structural foundation of a society. Redefi ning marriagedoesn’t mean all hell is going to break loose. It’s just a sign of how distant from God we’ve become - to recreate God’s design instead around our own desires.

I’m glad to see civil rights that respect all people. It isn’t a civil right to change what marriage has steadfastly been, the complementary union of a man and a woman that can multiply, as in procreate.

I have believed, whether inherited, acquired, or chosen, homosexuality is a perversion of the natural design of sexuality stemming from within the mind. Today, even in a church named after St. Paul, how does a leader of faith justify living as what St. Paul says in Romans 27?

Is love enough of a criteria for marriage?

I wish homosexuals couldevolve into heterosexuals.

Ideally, I hope we all will be gay living under a rainbow with pride in our good works. What will the Supreme Court decide about same-sex marriage?

Regardless, I will always love and respect the person.

In God We Trust. Can God trust me?
