LITTLE ROCK — Senior Justin McCleary scored 16 points, leading the Jacksonville Red Devils to an 82-58 victory over turnover prone Helena-West Helena Central in a 5A-Central Conference game Tuesday night in Jacksonville.
Helena-West Helena was within 20-17 early in the second quarter before Jacksonville (19-4, 11-1) turned the game into a rout.
The Red Devils outscored the Cougars 17-5 to end the first half and started the second half by outscoring the visitors 23-6 to open a 60-28 lead.
Helena-West Helena (5-10, 2-8) had 22 turnovers and struggled with the outside shooting, making 4 of 20 three-point attempts.
Jacksonville led 37-26 at the half and put the game away by scoring the first eight points of the third quarter.
