Council Action

The Rogers City Council met Tuesday and passed:

• Spending $30,600 from general fund reserve for repairs at Northwest Park. Insurance money was received last year to pay for storm damage to the lights. New lights will be installed on field four and lights on a second field will be repaired and properly aimed. The lights were damaged during a storms in 2003 and 2011.

• A $328,270 contract with Nunnally Chevrolet for six Impalas and eight Tahoes for the Police Department. By buying from Nunnally, the department saved $5,187 in shipping fees.

• Authorized the Police Department to sell seven Ford Crown Victorias used as police vehicles.

• Spending $14,842 from ICE forfeiture reserve to buy five DSR radar units for the Police Department

• A lease extension with American Tower Corp. to lease a cell tower at Dock Wheeler Park.

• A $100,000 amendment to the Flintco contract at the aquatic center. The money will be used to upgrade floor covering in the bath house and other changes.
