— Arkansas senior defensive end Austin Flynn was arrested at 1:15 a.m. Wednesday and charged with driving while intoxicated, careless and prohibited driving and not having insurance, according to an arrest report from the Fayetteville police department.

Flynn, 22, had a blood alcohol content .14 according to the report. The legal limit is .08.

Our student-athletes will understand there will be discipline in our program and will learn the responsibility they have in representing Arkansas in the right way. We will hold our student-athletes accountable for their actions at all times and character and integrity will always be a priority. Within our program we will learn just as many life lessons through our failures as we will through our future success."

Flynn was stopped by a police officer who said in the report he observed Flynn driving 40 miles per hour in a 25 mile per hour zone and also swerving into the roadway and crossing the center line.

Flynn told the officer he had driven some friends home after they had been on Dickson Street and was on his way home and said he had two beers earlier in the night. He speech was slurred and he had bloodshot eyes, according to the report, and on a field sobriety test he exhibited numerous clues consistent with being intoxicated. He then provided a breath sample at the Washington County Detention Center.

Flynn, the ninth Arkansas football player arrested since last March, was booked into the Detention Center at 7:10 a.m. Wednesday. His was released on a $1,075 bond at 9:15 a.m.
