An article in Sunday’s edition on false ZIP codes in the state’s list of concealed-handgun licensees reported a percentage that was based on the total number of different ZIP codes on the list (865) divided into the number of invalid codes (116), which equals 13.4 percent. The article omitted the total number of ZIP codes listed.
The number of incorrect ZIP codes represents at least 134 of the approximately 130,000 permit holders on the list: 134 divided by 130,000, or 0.1 percent of all licensees.
