The first Lenten fish fry at St. Bernard of Clairvaux Catholic Church in Bella Vista, 1 Saint Bernard Lane, will be Friday. Doors open at 5 p.m. Service begins at 6. Menu includes catfish, potato salad, cole slaw, hush puppies, dessert and drink. Cost is $10 per person.

Tickets are available at the church office. The community is welcome.

This year’s Lenten mission, “Luke Live!” will be March 10-12.

Bella Vista Lutheran Church, 1990 Forest Hills Blvd., is accepting donations for the Shepherd’s Food Panty and for snack packs for children at Cooper Elementary School in the entry of the fellowship hall from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 8 a.m. to noon on Friday. Indicate on the package for which project the food is being designated.

Items needed for snack packs include fruit cups, pudding packs, Granola bars without nuts, and cheese-filled crackers (without peanut butter).

Volunteers will gather at 8:30 a.m. Friday to pack the snacks. The group will meet every two weeks to pack snacks.

Unity Church of the Ozarks in Bentonville, 902 S.W. Second St. Suite E, is beginning a once-a-month event where the congregation can watch a thought-provoking movie together. The first Cinema Sunday will show “Brilliant Moon” at 12:30 p.m.

Feb. 17. Richard Gere and Lou Reed narrate the story of one of Tibet’s most revered 20th century Buddhist teachers and his dangerous journey out of Tibet. Brown bag lunches are welcome. Cinema Sundays are presented on a love offering basis.
