Where I live: I live in the heart of Fayetteville in an older house. It’s a 1960s, all-brick home. It has great structure. One of my neighbors says “Man, your house looks like it has a great bone structure to it.” It’s a house that I’ve been kind of working on from the inside for a while now, just making it new again. It’s kind of homey and has a super big fireplace.

Occupation: Owner of David Adams Fine Jewelry. I am a designer and creator of fine jewelry. I’m originally from the Monterey Bay, Calif., area. I moved here in 1991.

A lot of the work that’s coming through the store right now are grandmother’s heirlooms that have been handed down to the grandkids, and I’m now remaking with their materials.

My favorite space: By my fireplace.

Why? It’s soothing. It kind of draws the day out and helps you relax. Definitely something I enjoy a lot, especially when it’s cold outside, is coming home, setting the fireplace and really starting the evening with something to cook.

If I could do one thing to improve this space I would: Add a fresh coat of paint.
