FAYETTEVILLE — Residents can begin applying for 16 openings on nine volunteer boards and commissions.
Two of the vacancies are on the Advertising and Promotion Commission.
According to Marilyn Heifner, executive director, commissioners Bob Davis and Maudie Schmitt will step down when their terms end March 31. Davis has served on the commission as a resident at-large. Schmitt’s position, as required by state law, must be filled with an owner or manager of a hotel, motel or restaurant.
Other board and commission openings include:
Animal Services Advisory Board: One term ending June 30, 2014
Audit Committee: One term ending Dec. 31, 2015
City Board of Health: One term ending Dec. 31, 2016
Civil Service Commission: One term ending March 31, 2019
Construction Board of Adjustments and Appeals: One term ending March 31, 2017, One term ending March 31, 2018, Two alternate terms ending March 31, 2014
Housing Authority Board: One term ending Dec. 28, 2014
Fayetteville Public Library Board : Two terms ending April 1, 2018
Planning Commission: Three terms ending March 31, 2016
