Local comics headline brew pub series

Jocelyn Morelli enjoys talking about her life as a 46-year-old divorcee trying to date in a college town.

Morelli, a comedian in Fayetteville, says her standup acts stem from what is happening in her life. She will be performing Feb. 17 at the Stand-Up Comedy Date Night at Tanglewood Branch Beer Co. in south Fayetteville as part of the Tangled Words Comedy Events series. Misty Hale Gittings will perform a set prior to Morelli, she says.

Morelli started doing standup comedy last February at an open mic event at the UARK Bowl. Her grandmother had recently died, and she says she found that it was therapeutic to talk about it on stage and make it funny.

For the Feb. 17 event, Morelli says she is looking forward to being in a room with a bunch of people on dates and talking about relationships and what women are thinking.
