— Six Arkansas Razorbacks headline the state’s contingent of players invited to the NFL Scouting Combine.

A record 333 players have been invited to the event, which will be held Feb. 23-26 at the RCA Dome in Indianapolis.

Quarterback Tyler Wilson and receiver Cobi Hamilton top the list of Arkansas players, joined by offensive guard Alvin Bailey, punter Dylan Breeding, tailback Knile Davis and tight end Chris Gragg. Bailey and Davis are among the record 67 underclassmen invited to the annual combine.

Offensive lineman Terron Armstead of Arkansas-Pine Bluff and defensive lineman Ty Powell of Harding University also have been invited to participate.

Wilson and Hamilton broke numerous records during their senior seasons and already have a week of Senior Bowl practices among their pre-draft preparations.

Davis ran for 1,322 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns as a sophomore in 2010 while leading Arkansas to its first BCS bowl berth in the Sugar Bowl. But he struggled with 377 rushing yards in 2012 after missing the previous season with a broken ankle.

Bailey started all 38 games of his college career before declaring early and is projected by ESPN analyst Mel Kiper Jr. as a middle-round selection.

Gragg missed seven games in 2012 with a deep bone bruise that he reinjured in an attempted comeback against Ole Miss. Gragg, a two-year starter, caught 22 passes for 289 yards and 3 touchdowns as a senior after grabbing 41 receptions for 518 yards and 2 scores as a junior.

Breeding punted for four seasons and ranked sixth in the NCAA with an average of 45.58 yards per punt in 2012 after leading the SEC and ranking seventh nationally with a 45.28 average in 2011.

Powell, 6-3, 250, of Marina, Calif., led the Bisons with 8 1/2 sacks and 15 tackles for loss among his 40 tackles.

Armstead was part of a Golden Lions team that capped a 10-2 season with a 24-21 victory over Jackson State for UAPB’s first outright Southwestern Athletic Conference championship.

A notable absence from the Arkansas roster was Razorbacks tailback Dennis Johnson, who led Arkansas with 757 rushing yards and eight touchdowns last season.

Johnson responded to the combine snub with a post on Twitter: “I said it be4. I’ll say it again ... Keep sleeping on me ... One day them eyes will be open ... Promise you that ... Self Motivated.”
