Northwest Second Street To Close

Thursday, February 7, 2013

— The intersection at Northwest Second and Northwest D streets will close Saturday to Tuesday to allow the city to start work replacing a sewer main in the street, according to a city news release.

Northwest Second Street will remain closed between Northwest A Street and Northwest D Street for about three weeks for the project. Residents who live on the closed portion will be able to enter and exit their driveways, according to the news release.

The closing is the first phase of a project to replace the sewer main, manholes and service lines along Northwest Second Street. City officials anticipate the project will wrap up April 8.

A project status map is available on the city website at www.bentonvillear.com and will provide information on street closings associated with the improvement.

Officials advise drivers to avoid Northwest Second Street by diverting a block south to West Central Avenue until the project is complete.
