Earnings report

— Companies reporting quarterly earnings Wednesday included:

CVS Caremark, the retailer and pharmacy benefi ts manager, a profit of $1.13 billion, or 90 cents a share, up from $1.06 billion, or 81 cents a share, a year ago. Revenue rose nearly 11 percent to $31.39 billion. Shares fell 48 cents to close at $51.24.

Madison Square Garden Co., owner and operator of the NBA’s New York Knicks and NHL’s New York Rangers, a profit of $46.9 million, or 60 cents a share, up from $25.6 million, or 33 cents a share, a year ago. Revenue rose 4 percent to $387.9 million. Shares rose $1.23 to close at $53.34.

Ralph Lauren Corp., the designer clothing company, a profit of $215.7 million, or $2.31 a share, up from $169 million, or $1.78 a share, a year ago. Revenue rose 2.2 percent to $1.79 billion. Shares rose $9.72 to close at $174.63.

Zynga Inc., the biggest maker of online social games, a loss of $48.6 million, or 6 cents a share, from a loss of $435 million, or $1.22 a share, a year ago. Revenue was◊at at about $311 million. Shares rose 25 cents to close at $2.99.
