Measure gets Senate panel’s OK

The Senate Judiciary Committee Wednesday unanimously approved a bill that would amend the state’s death-penalty statute, which was ruled unconstitutional by the Arkansas Supreme Court last summer.

Why continue with the death penalty? It really doesn't prevent murder and is so much more expensive to the tax payers than letting the murderer spend the rest of his life locked away from his family, friends, pleasures, and the great events of life that others are experiencing. I think that death is too easy an out and too expensive.
