10 arrested in Benton County drug sting

Ten people were arrested as the result of a Feb. 1 drug sting in Rogers, Sheriff Kelley Cradduck announced during a news conference Wednesday.

Seven of those people were arrested on-site and three others were arrested later. The investigation is ongoing, Cradduck said.

Arrested

  • Shawn Michael Ewert, 43, of Bentonville, was arrested in connection with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia and misdemeanor counts failure to appear and hot checks. Ewert was being held in Benton County Jail on $15,000 bond on Wednesday.
  • Melizza Dawn Christiansen, 29, of Rogers was arrested in connection with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms. Christiansen was cited and released on Feb. 3, according to Benton County Jail records.
  • Michael Hill, 49, of Rogers, was arrested in connection with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms and intent to deliver a counterfeit substance. Hill was being held Wednesday in Benton County Jail on a parole violation.
  • Ray Robert Grady, 58, of Eagle Rock, Mo. Was arrested in connection with possession with intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia. Grady was released from Benton County Jail on $30,000 bond on Feb. 3.
  • Sarah Rustin, 27, of Rogers, was arrested in connection with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms. Rustin was cited and released on Feb. 3, according to Benton County Jail records.
  • Dale Edwin Shaffer, 55, of Rogers, was arrested in connection with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms. Shaffer was cited and released on Feb. 3, according to Benton County Jail records.
  • Jeffery Stout, 32, of Gentry, was arrested in connection with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms and a misdemeanor count of contempt. Stout was cited and released on Feb. 3, according to Benton County Jail records.
  • Candius Sue Taylor, 51, of Rogers, was arrested in connection with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Taylor was cited and released on Feb. 4, according to Benton County Jail records.
  • Donald Eugene Thompson, 52, of Green Forest, was arrested in connection with conspiracy to obtain a controlled substance. Thompson was released from Benton County Jail on $5,000 bond on Feb. 3.
  • William Wallace, 41, of Holiday Island, was arrested in connection with possession with intent to deliver, felony possession of a controlled substance and a misdemeanor count of driving while suspended. Wallace was released from Benton County Jail on $30,000 bond on Feb. 5.

The Benton County Sheriff's Office announced the seizure of $18,000 in methamphetamine, $10,859 in currency, two vehicles and a loaded handgun during a Feb. 1 search

The arrests came from the efforts of the newly-formed Special Operations Division, Cradduck said.

“This investigation follows up a busy and productive January for the Benton County Sheriff's Office Special Operations Division,” Cradduck said, reading from a prepared statement.

“During the month of January the Special Operations Division conducted five search warrants, made more than 70 arrests, conducted numerous drug investigations that resulted in large amounts of various illegal drugs being taken off the streets and recovered multiple guns," Cradduck said.
