Michigan architect plans LR lecture

— Architect Reed Kroloff, director of the Cranbrook Academy of Art and Museum in Bloomfield Hills, Mich., will speak Feb. 12 at the Arkansas Arts Center’s lecture hall.

Kroloff’s 6 p.m. talk, the fifth in Architecture and Design Network’s 2012-13 architectural lecture series, is free and open to the public. A 5:30 p.m. reception will precede the lecture titled Changing the World: One Installation at a Time.

Kroloff - who holds degrees from the University of Texas and Yale University - writes and lectures widely, and also works to develop design strategies and select architects for a variety of special projects.

This past year, Kroloff served as a member and chairman of the jury that named the prize winners of the 2012 design competition sponsored by the Arkansas Chapter of the American Institute of Architects.
