Tip Leads To Arrests, Drugs, Cash

Police Seize Marijuana, Meth, Pills, Illegal Mushrooms

— An anonymous tip led detectives to arrest three Fayetteville men Thursday after they seized a pound of marijuana, illegal mushrooms, methamphetamine, pills and about $34,000.

Joshua Fair, 28, and Benjamin Driver, 20, both of 5810 W. Wedington Drive, along with William Littig, 19, of 1125 Carriage Way were arrested Thursday in connection with felony possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and nine counts of possession of a controlled substance. Driver also faces a felony charge in connection with destruction of vital public property.

According to an arrest report, a tipster told police Fair, Littig and Driver were trafficking large amounts of marijuana and other “club drugs” in Northwest Arkansas.

Police stopped two vehicles containing the three men about 11 a.m. Thursday on Wedington Drive.

During a search of a blue Honda, police found a safe containing marijuana, pay stubs and a large amount of money, according to the report.

Inside a van, police said they found 613 grams of marijuana, 34 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, 4 grams of methamphetamine, 40 small glass jars of growing mushrooms, several containers of suspected LSD, digital scales, various prescription drugs and a large amount of money.

Sgt. Brad Renfro of the 4th Judicial District Drug Task Force said the money was seized by the Drug Enforcement Administration.

Fair, Driver and Littig were released Friday from the Washington County Detention Center on $5,000 bond each.
