Rogers woman arrested in connection with rape

A Rogers woman was arrested Thursday in connection with the rape of a boy, according to a news release from the Rogers Police Department.

Lisa Dawn Norman was arrested on five counts of rape, a Class Y felony, and was transported to the Benton County Jail, according to the news release.

The father of a 15-year-old boy reported to police on Jan. 17 that his son was inappropriately touched six years ago, according to an affidavit of probable cause.

The teenager was later interviewed at the Children’s Advocacy Center of Benton County.

According to court documents, the boy said the abuse began when he was 7 years old. The teen described the abuse in detail and reported that the last incident happened when he was 8 year old and in the third grade, according to the affidavit.

Norman was also interviewed by police, according to the affidavit.

She initially denied the allegation, but later told the detectives that she remembered on incident where she woke up in bed with the boy and was touching inappropriately, according to the affidavit. According to court documents, she told police that the incident happened when the boy was in the second or third grade,

Norman was unsure how the boy got in her bed and she told police that he had been known to sleep walk, according to the affidavit.

Norman was being held Friday in the county jail with no bond set.
