PREP BASKETBALL ROUNDUP PREP GIRLS ROGERS HERITAGE 47, OKC STORM 37

The Lady War Eagles jumped to a nine-point halftime lead and went on to the double-digit win Saturday in the consolation bracket of the Mid-Del Holiday Tournament in Oklahoma City.

Junior Emilie Jobst led Heritage (3-6) with 18 points, while Emily Seiler added 10 points. Hanna Rickard chipped in eight points and 11 rebounds, while Gina Britton added seven points and 10 rebounds.

Heritage will play in the consolation bracket finals at noon today.

The War Eagles suffered not letdown Friday, after Thursday evening’s tough loss to Mustang, Okla.

Heritage led 32-12 at halftime en route to the big win in the consolation bracket.

“The kids really played well,” Heritage coach Tom Olsen said. “We probably played as well defensively as we’ve played all year. We were up 16-8 in the second quarter and finished the half with a 16-2 run.”

Wyatt Kinnamon led three War Eagles in double figures with 18 points, while Crist Olsen added 13 and Connor Hirsh 12.

Heritage (8-3) will play in the consolation finals today at 1:30 p.m.

EPISCOPAL COLLEGIATE 53

The Springdale Har-Ber boys used balanced scoring to win its opening game Friday at the Holiday Hoops Tournament in Wynne.

Andrew Davis, Tyler Mahar, and Rickey Jones each scored 16 points to lead the Wildcats. Har-Ber led 15-7 after one quarter and 36-23 at halftime.

Har-Ber advanced to play Marion at 5:30 p.m. today.

The Har-Ber girls lost 64-39 to Flower Mound (Texas) Marcus on Friday in a tournament at Mansfi eld, Texas.

Marlene Hornor scored eight points to lead the Lady Wildcats.

! McDonald County (Mo.) High School is hosting a six-week baseball camp starting Jan. 25.

McDonald County baseball coach Nick Martin will direct the program in conjunction with U.S. Baseball Academy. Classes are available for players in grades 1-12 and are limited to six players per coach.

Sessions are offered in advanced hitting, pitching, catching, fi elding and baserunning. Proceeds from the program benefit amateur baseball in Anderson, Mo. Space is limited.
