Fayetteville Collects Christmas Trees

Friday, December 27, 2013

Trees will be collected free of charge on residents’ regular trash day.

Residents can take Christmas trees to the Fayetteville Compost Facility, 1708 S. Armstrong Ave. The trees will be ground into mulch or compost, which is then sold or given to the public. The compost facility is open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday and from 8 a.m. to noon the first Saturday of the month, including Jan. 4.

Trees will not be collected if plastic bags, tree stands or decorations aren't removed. No artificial trees will be collected.

Trash and recycling routes will be delayed by one day Wednesday and Thursday because of the New Year’s Day holiday. Wednesday service will run Thursday, and Thursday service will run Friday.
