10 a.m. - The Polar Bear Walk to benefit Girls Shelter of FortSmith will be at Creekmore Park, Rogers Avenue and South 31st Street. Registration is $15 for adults and $10 for youth 12 and younger.

9 a.m. - The Tux on the Run 5K to benefit the Northwest Arkansas Mercy Family YMCA will begin at the Mercy Family YMCA parking lot at Village on the Creeks in Rogers. There will be a costume contest and awards for top finishers in several categories.

7 p.m. - The annual Recommitment Banquet sponsored by the Northwest Arkansas Martin Luther King Council will be at the Fayetteville Town Center. The 2014 honorees will be Barbara Lofton, Lifetime Achievement Award; Tonya Cook, Ernestine White Gibson Individual Achievement Award; Brendan L. Cook, Rodney Momon Youth Award; William “Bill” Whitfield, the Rev. J.A. Hawkins Posthumous Award and Ronnie Brewer Foundation, Corporation of the Year.

WALK A MILE OZARK GUIDANCE FOUNDATION

8 a.m.-1 p.m. - The fourth annual Walk a Mile in My Shoes fundraiser for the Ozark Guidance

10 a.m.-3 p.m. - Le Chocolate Feast, benefiting the Pink Divas of Northwest Arkansas and Arkansas Reeling and Healing, will be at the Northwest Arkansas Mall in Fayetteville.

The fundraiser will feature chocolate creations from area restaurants, bakeries and caterers. Proceeds stay local for women with cancer.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for the first 200 children 12 years and younger.

Reservations for the casual Scrabble tournament fundraiser are $50 and include dinner, beer, wine and tournament entry fee.
