Polar Bear Bass Event Set

The New Year’s Day Polar Bear Bass Tournament is set for 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Wednesday at Beaver Lake out of Prairie Creek park.

Entry fee is $60 per boat and includes big bass. First prize is $1,200. Entries received by 1 p.m. Dec. 31 are entered into a $200 early-bird prize drawing.

Anglers may enter at Southtown Sporting Goods in Fayetteville, Mobile Marine in Springdale, Jeff Cook insurance in Lowell or Hook, Line and Sinker in Rogers.

Entries are accepted at Prairie Creek on tournament morning.

Lake Ann Tree Disposal Site

Bella Vista residents may dispose of Christmas trees at Lake Ann by dropping them off at the boat launch ramp.

The Bella Vista Property Owners Association will sink the trees in the lake for fish habitat. Residents should not sink trees themselves. Trees will be collected through January.
