PUBLIC VIEWPOINT

Thanks To Fayetteville Teachers

My granddaughter asked me to come to her school and help with the dissection of a sheep eye. As a retired optometrist, I thought it sounded like a lot of fun. I was in college before ever dissecting an animal.

Anne Covington did an outstanding job of walking the students at McNair Middle School science class through the process. The children are in sixth grade and were really excited to participate.

What a great experience for them and for me. I was not aware of the level of education in science that is being taught to our children.

The detail of instructionand the knowledge of the instructor were awesome.

Thank you, Fayetteville teachers, for your professionalism.

KUDOS TO CARRIERS

I just wanted to mention

the fact that not one morning during the (recent snow) did my newspaper fail to reach my driveway! I have no idea who my carrier is or if I even have a regular carrier, but someone needs to be recognized for such dedication after braving all the ice, snow and cold temperatures. My heartfeltthanks for your eff orts!

In the midst of all of this “instant gratifi cation” that we all seem to be fi lled with, such as wanting the highways and roads cleared instantly, it would behoove all of us to thank those who did the best they could with what they had to clear the roads, making it safe for us to travel.

LET HARTON GO

Please follow the lead of

the A&E Network and release Greg Harton for comments he made against me and the state of Arkansas (Dec. 23).

He called Arkansas a backwards state due to our definition of a marriage. There has been a precedence in America that you can do whatever you want and say anything, even if it is against the Bible, God’s Holy Word, unless it is directed toward Christians.

Mr. Harton expressed his opinion that diff ers from the majority of the state and should be let go, never to write an editorial for any Arkansas newspaper.

Failure to do so will let us know how your newspaper stands on this type of behavior and your support of the state of Arkansas.
