LAKE LEATHERWOOD, EUREKA SPRINGS

Location: Entrance to the city park is 3.2 miles north of South Main Street off U.S. 62. Go 1.46 miles and park at the marina. Head north on Fisherman’s Trail.

Length: Following the Fuller, Fisherman’s and Beecham trails clockwise around the lake is 3.43 relatively flat miles. The park has about 25 miles of other trails that climb ridges and explore hollers.

Main attractions: This hidden gem features 1,600 acres, a pristine 85-acre lake, historic dam, a variety of vistas and hardwood creek bottoms.

Hazards: Keep the small fry off the dam railings; it’s quite a drop.
