Rogers restaurant brings together two tastes of Asia

Chinese food and sushi dishes are served up at Asian & Sushi in Rogers.

The family-owned restaurant opened in March, owner Sky Lin says. Asian & Sushi offers various Chinese items, such as chicken and broccoli, Kung Pao chicken and sesame chicken. One popular Chinese dish is the Happy Nest, which he says includes lobster, shrimp, squid, crabstick and other types of seafood mixed with vegetables in a white sauce ($14.95). This dish is served with white rice.

Lin says there are 14 combination platters of Chinese food, and each one is $7.95 and served with a choice of egg roll or canned soda and either white rice, brown rice or pork fried rice.

There are also Chinese lunch specials served from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

Some of the selections are chow mein, sweet and sour chicken, beef with broccoli and shrimp with lobster sauce. Each dish is $6.25 and comes with a choice of soup or canned soda and either white rice, brown rice or pork fried rice.

Asian & Sushi also offers 26 chef’s special sushi rolls, whichrange in price from $9.95 to $12.95. Lin says a popular one is the Walmart roll, which is deep fried and consists of salmon, cream cheese, eel sauce and honey wasabi mayo sauce ($9.95).

Another dish often ordered is the golden dragon roll, which is deep fried and includes spicy yellowtail, jalapeno, crabstick, cream cheese and chef’s special sauce, topped with crunch, masago and green onion. The golden dragon roll is $12.95.

Eel and avocado rolls, shrimp tempura rolls or vegetable rolls and other maki or temaki rolls range from $4.95 to $5.50. There are also various sushi lunch specials. Maki lunch specials are $8.55 for two rolls and $10.95 for three rolls. A chef’s choice of five assorted sushi and a California roll is $9.75 on the lunch special. A bento box special is $11.95.

The restaurant also offers fried ice cream for dessert for $4.95, Lin says.
