Newspaper Carriers Get A-Plus

Our newspaper carrier gets up in the early morning hours and delivers the paper while it is still dark. During the recent ice and snow storm, our carrier has never missed a delivery.

Each morning when I go out at 5 or 5:30 a.m., the paper is there. Great job!

Sadly, our postal carrier (this year it seems like we have a new one everyday), who should be delivering after the sun comes up, hasnot provided any service for seven days. This F grade is for our postal carrier only.

We have family and friends who work for the USPS and work very hard.

SHOW RESPECT FOR OTHERS Anyone who has the privilege to operate a motor vehicle shouldhave some respect for the people they may encounter. What if your mother were riding with someone you cut off or fl ipped off ? What if you were hot-rodding or whoopdie doin’ next to someone locked and loaded, ready to be set off ?

When I moved here in 1973, there were maybe 8,000 people. I graduated in 1982, when the population was around 18,000. Yeah, we kids then got away with a lot.

But as Gen Xers or whatever tag they give the young’uns will come to understand, the older you get, the more you will care about the people around you, because you will want to be more cared about.

Also, respect any veteran license plate you encounter.

God bless us all.
