Application For Heat Assistance Available

The Office of Human Concern will accept applications for the 2014 Regular and Crisis Winter Home Energy Assistance Program, beginning Jan. 6.

The program is designed to help low-income individuals and families with the increasing cost of energy, according to a news release. People in Benton, Carroll, and Madison counties are eligible.

Interviews will be done at the main office, 506 E. Spruce St. in Rogers, 8 a.m.- 2 p.m. Monday through Friday.

People shouldn't wait until the last minute to apply if a shut-off notice is received. The application should be submitted no sooner than seven days prior to disconnect.

Applications will be available for pick-up only for people younger than 60 at local Department of Human Service offices: 900 S.E. 13th Court, Bentonville 479-273-9011; 304 Hailey Road, Berryville, 870-423-3351; 1013 N. College Ave., Huntsville,, 479-738-2161.

Applications for people 60 or older will be available at Senior Activity Centers: 3501 S.E.
