Riddle following Harsin

Arkansas State special teams coordinator and tight ends coach Kent Riddle will be returning to Boise State along with Bryan Harsin, the Idaho Statesman reported on Monday.

Riddle coached at Boise State in 1995-2005, the final five with Harsin, before coaching at Colorado and North Texas. He joined Harsin at Arkansas State before this season.

In his one season leading the Red Wolves’ special teams, Riddle chose wide receiver J.D. McKissic to return kickoffs and the sophomore averaged 30.0 yards per return to lead the Sun Belt Conference and was third nationally. ASU’s team average of 25.2 yards per return led the Sun Belt and was seventh nationally.

Riddle was one of 40 nominations for the Broyles Award, which goes to college football’s top assistant coach.

Riddle is Harsin’s first addition to his Boise State staff. It is not yet clear if Riddle will remain with the Red Wolves for the GoDaddy Bowl on Jan. 5 in Mobile, Ala.
