Dispatchers Evacuated Temporarily In Smoke Scare At Rogers Police Department

Tuesday, December 17, 2013

— Smoke from a computer room caused the temporary evacuation of dispatchers for the Rogers Police Department on Monday night.

Dispatchers heard a noise and saw what appeared to be smoke from a nearby room that houses computers, officials said. The fire department was called and dispatchers moved to a backup location in the temporary detention facility at the police department.

Calls to 911 in Rogers were not shut down during the evacuation, said Keith Foster, police spokesman.
