— The School District’s superintendent will move his office to the roof temporarily if enough canned and boxed food items come through his door.

The public is invited to drop off nonperishable food items at the district’s Administration Building at 500 Tiger Blvd. All donations will be delivered to the Samaritan Community Center in Rogers, which helps the district through its SnackPacks for Kids program.

Superintendent Michael Poore’s original plan was to work on the roof Wednesday. As of Monday afternoon, however, Poore had received few donations, so he likely will extend the deadline and work from the roof a different day, he said.

This is the second year Poore has run such a campaign. He worked from his roof for a day last December after about $4,000 in donations arrived at his office.
