BASKETBALL Worsham quits ASU basketball team

Sophomore forward Raeford Worsham has quit the Arkansas State basketball team, Coach John Brady said in a statement released Saturday.

Worsham, a sophomore forward from Waynesboro, Miss., averaged 6.4 points and 2.3 rebounds in 13.9 minutes per game while coming off the bench this year, and Brady said NCAA violations may have been committed in relation to Worsham.

“We believe some NCAA rules may have been breached as it relates to tampering and we will use all avenues to protect the investment we made,” Brady said. “As always I’m indebted to the players who wear the scarlet and black and I’m proud to coach those who represent this wonderful university.”

Brady also announced that junior forward Seth Kisler from Fort Wayne, Ind., has been cleared to play for the Red Wolves. Kisler, who played in one game last season, suffered a concussion before the season.
