ROGERS — Neosho, Mo., wres- tling coach Jeremy Phillips thought his team might have to scrap another weekend thanks to the weather Friday morning, but a call to Rogers Heritage coach Doug Freeman paid big dividends.
It just so happens a couple of teams had to withdraw from the NWA Duals because they couldn’t travel on the icy roads. Phillips was more than happy to fill one of those open- ings and the oppositive paid the price.
Neosho rolled over three opponents by a combined score of 210-6 and was the only remaining undefeated team in
the Navy pool, after the first day of the tournament at War Eagle Arena.
Moore, Okla., went 3-0 in the Orange pool with wins over Bentonville (50-13), Fayetteville (69-12) and Seneca, Mo. (54-31).
Phillips was just happy for his squad, the defending Class 3 state champions in Missouri, was able to wrestle another team, this weekend, after a scheduled trip to Jefferson City, Mo., was scrapped Friday morning.
“We’re just really fortunate that Coach Freeman worked with us and allowed us to get in the tournament about 11:30 this morning,” Phillips said. “We come in here with indi- vidual and team goals. We want to get better every time
