CLASS 7A FINAL BENTONVILLE 39, CABOT 28

Sophomore quarterback Kasey Ford completed 18 of 25 passes for 265 yards and 3 touchdowns in Bentonville’s victory over Cabot in the Class 7A state championship game Friday night at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock. The top-ranked Tigers (11-2) captured their third state championship since 2008 and the fourth in school history. It was the seventh state championship for Bentonville Coach Barry Lunney, who also won four titles at Fort Smith Southside.

CLASS 4A SEMIFINALS WARREN 27, VALLEY VIEW 20

Senior quarterback Drake Jones ran for four touchdowns, including the game winner from 1 yard with 1:12 remaining in the game, to lift Warren past Valley View in the semifinals of the Class 4A playoffs. Jones engineered a 95-yard game-winning drive after Warren recovered a fumble at its 5 with about 3 ½ minutes left to play.

BOONEVILLE 43, PB DOLLARWAY 14

Quarterback Cody Harrell made sure Booneville didn’t let its latest opportunity to play for a state championship slip through its grasp Friday night. Harrell rushed 21 times for 164 yards and 3 touchdowns to lead the Bearcats to a dominating victory over Pine Bluff Dollarway in the semifinals on the campus of UAPB.CLASS 3A SEMIFINALS CHARLESTON 46, EARLE 8

Charleston just needed one drive to spark its offense, then it never looked back Friday night at Alumni Field in Charleston. Junior quarterback Ty Storey led a scoring drive right before halftime as Charleston regained the lead and used that for a victory over Earle.

GLEN ROSE 54, SMACKOVER 24

Carlos Burton rushed for 245 yards and five touchdowns, leading Glen Rose to a 54-24 mercy-rule victory over Smackover Friday night in Haskell. The Beavers also clinched a second consecutive berth in the Class 3A championship game.

CLASS 2A SEMIFINALS DES ARC 8, BEARDEN 0

Bearden’s defense hadn’t allowed a single point through the first three rounds of the playoffs, but an inability to score against Des Arc sunk the Bears’ chances at a second consecutive appearance in the Class 2A state championship game.

JUNCTION CITY 38, CARLISLE 28

EL DORADO - Junction City extended the state’s longest winning streak to 26 games and will play for its second consecutive Class 2A title next Saturday in Little Rock, but the victory did not come easily for the Dragons against Carlisle at Memorial Stadium.
